Africa

Africa is the world's second-largest and second most populous continent, located primarily in the Eastern and Southern Hemispheres. It is bordered by the Atlantic Ocean to the west, the Indian Ocean to the southeast, the Mediterranean Sea to the north, and the Suez Canal and Red Sea to the northeast. Africa is extremely diverse both geographically and culturally, with a wide variety of landscapes, climates, peoples, cultures, and languages. It is the birthplace of humanity and home to some of the world's oldest civilizations. Africa is known for its rich biodiversity and natural landscapes, ranging from tropical rainforests to vast deserts. The continent faces significant challenges, including poverty, disease, conflict, and the effects of climate change. The current population of Africa is approximately 1.473 billion people (as of 2023).
