La vitamina B5 o Acido pantotenico aiuta la crescita, rigenera la pelle e contribuisce a fornire energia al corpo. Svolge funzioni importanti nelle ghiandole surrenali e nel sistema nervoso.

La vitamina B5 si trova in lenticchie, piselli, cereali, soia, arachidi mentre negli animali si trova nella carne, uova, fegato, latte.

I casi di carenza di questa vitamina sono rarissimi e coincidono con forti stati di denutrizione.

Viene ampiamente usata nel settore sanitario e nei prodotti cosmetici.

La vitamina B5 è stata utilizzata, con qualche successo, nella cura dell'acne leggera (1).

Utile come prevenzione delle infezioni della pelle da agenti patogeni (2) e coadiuvante nella cura della perdita dei capelli (3).
