Bis-(Morpholinomethyl C1-4 Dialkoxysiloxy) Dimethicone is an inorganic chemical compound, a Dimethicone by-product.
The name describes the structure of the molecule:
Description of Raw Materials and Their Functions
Dimethicone. As above. A silicone polymer used as the base for the formation of the compound. It provides the typical softness and slipperiness properties of silicones.
Morpholinomethyl Silane. A compound that provides reactive functional groups to bond with dimethicone. These groups enhance the adhesion and functionality of the polymer.
C1-4 Dialkoxy Alcohols. Short-chain alcohols used to modify the structure of the silane, improving the solubility and reactivity of the compound

Form and Color
Typically appears as a viscous liquid, clear or slightly yellow.
What it is used for and where
Bis-(Morpholinomethyl C1-4 Dialkoxysiloxy) Dimethicone is a complex silicone compound used in cosmetics and skincare products. This ingredient is known for its conditioning and film-forming properties, providing a silky feel and improving the texture of products. It is often used in hair and skin formulas for its ability to form a protective film and enhance the appearance and feel of products.
Cosmetics
Hair fixative. This ingredient has the ability to create, with its protective film, stiffness and hold in the hair, and also has the ability to form, with its hydrophilic and elastic properties, bonds between the hair fibres, to keep the hair in a particular shape for a certain time.
Waving and straightening agent for hair. It is an ingredient that enables straightening and/or waving by permanently changing the shape or configuration of the keratinous hair fibres.
Commercial applications:
Cosmetics Industry. This compound is used as a conditioning agent in various cosmetic products, particularly in hair and skin care products such as shampoos, conditioners, and lotions.
Safety
Dimethicone ((polydimethylsiloxane) is a chemical compound, a high molecular weight polymer derived from silicone, a chemically inert mixture of linear methylated siloxane polymers. The term 'dimeth' denotes two methyl groups bonded to the silicone molecule that provide the formation of dimethicone. It possesses a pronounced viscoelasticity characteristic and is hydrophobic, thus adding shine and slipperiness when applied to hair or skin. It forms a kind of barrier that prevents exogenous substances from entering the stratum corneum and at the same time prevents water loss. It is also UV-resistant, non-greasy and cost-effective. At low concentrations it is considered by the US FDA (Food and Drug Administration) to be a skin protector with a good degree of safety.
It is therefore considered safe when formulated to be non-irritating in cosmetic products as, given its high molecular weight, it is poorly absorbed by the skin or scalp.
