XC68LC040RC25 (68040) was the CPU that replaced the 68030 model.

The 68040 model had the FPU (Floating Point Unit) and had a cache, fully pipeline six-stage, however this XC68LC040RC25 model was strangely without FPU.

Used in the Apple McIntosh Quadra and Performa, the UNIX series, and the Amiga 4000.
