Problem: Electronic brake button

By placing an object, such as a mobile phone, between the automatic gearshift lever and the object compartment, the lever could hit the object and not end its stroke.

TOYOTA solution: A spacer has been inserted between the gear lever and the object compartment

February 2019

Problem: MOTOR cabling

As a result of vibrations, the insulation of an electric cable may be damaged. This electric cable may touch the metal cover, cause a short circuit and subsequent fire.

In addition to the vibrations, if debris or dirt accumulate on the cover, they could bypass the insulation of the electric cable, cause a short circuit and a consequent fire.

TOYOTA solution: A spacer has been inserted between the engine and the bonnet.
