Summary
The 2025 Alfa Romeo Tonale remains a strong bridge between the brand’s sporting legacy and its electric future. With sharp steering and full ADAS features, it covers all needs: frugal mild-hybrids, a long-range diesel, and a 280 hp PHEV offering up to 70 km of zero-emission driving. Weight and the 7-DCT aren’t perfect, but its style, dynamic behaviour and interior space make it one of the most well-rounded (and most Italian) contenders in the segment.
Verdict — Alfa Romeo Tonale (MY 2025)
Plug-in Q4 280 hp · 2.0 Turbo 268 hp · 48 V Hybrid 160 hp
The Biscione’s first compact SUV enters its third season with a light model-year update that broadens the engine range and refines the tech: the 268 hp 2.0 turbo AWD debuts, the plug-in Q4 increases to 84 km EV WLTP range thanks to new energy management software, and the 160 hp 48 V hybrid receives the second-gen e-DCT. All versions adopt Arrow LED headlights, updated 10.25″ U-connect infotainment (Alfa UX 2.0), and a full L2 ADAS package with automated lane change.
