Trunk Capacity
Sedan: 480 L; Touring: 500 L (1,510 L with seats folded). The 330e loses around 90 L due to the HV battery pack.
PROS
Why it convinces
Dynamic balance: Sharper front end, optional M suspension, 50:50 weight split – remains the benchmark in D-segment.
Broad engine range: Petrol, diesel, MHEV, and plug-in 330e with 80+ km EV; M340i/d versions offer sporty performance.
Technology (OS 9): Curved Display, “Hey BMW” voice control, 5G eSIM, continuous OTA updates.
Level 2+ ADAS: Adaptive cruise up to 210 km/h, assisted lane changes, Remote Parking via app; hardware-ready for L3 “Personal Pilot”.
Real-world efficiency: 320d drops to 4.8 l/100 km highway; 330e reaches 60–65 km electric in urban winter.
Touring versatility: Flat load floor, 40/20/40 seat split, opening rear window and cargo net included.
Strong resale value: 330e and 320d M Sport retain ~70% of list price at 36 months per fleet data.
CONS
Noted drawbacks
Touch-only climate controls: No physical HVAC buttons – awkward with winter gloves.
Firm ride on 19″ wheels: 255/35-19 amplifies bumps; 18″ more balanced.
High option prices: Individual paint, B&W Diamond audio, Sky Lounge roof: add €10,000.
No RWD for M340i: Only xDrive available – RWD purists may frown.
Bulky PHEV battery: 330e cuts trunk space and eliminates spare tire.
Cold start noise from I6: B58/B57 slightly “metallic” when just started (normal behavior).

Summary
The 2025 BMW 3 Series strengthens its leadership in the D-segment by combining a full engine lineup (MHEV, PHEV, diesel, inline-six petrol), next-gen OS 9 infotainment, and a chassis that remains the benchmark for comfort and driving pleasure. High option prices and lack of physical climate buttons may cause some gripes, but in terms of efficiency, quality, and residual value, the “dreier” remains the reference point.
Verdict — BMW 3 Series (G20 “second facelift” — Model Year 2025)
Following the 2022 refresh, the D-segment sedan/wagon receives a further mid-cycle update: slimmer Matrix headlights, optional “Iconic Glow” grille, redesigned bumpers, and a dashboard now featuring the 14.9″ Curved Display with iDrive 9 (QuickSelect + 5G). All four- and six-cylinder engines adopt 48V mild-hybrid tech, the plug-in 330e gains a net 22.1 kWh battery (up to 100 km WLTP), and the M340i xDrive increases to 382 hp. In a crowded arena (incoming Audi A4 B10, Mercedes C-Class W206, facelifted Alfa Giulia, Volvo S60, Tesla Model 3 Highland), the 3 Series continues to play the “all-rounder” card, with a focus on driving pleasure and build quality.
