Treated with ethyl alcohol on the surface is a term that reflects the procedure of sterilising the surface of a product, usually a bakery product.

Ethyl alcohol is an antiseptic, disinfectant and antimicrobial. The action of ethanol is broad-spectrum and counteracts mycobacteria with the exception of sporigenic bacteria, vegetative bacteria, fungi (which have a certain viral and bacterial resistance to alcohols) and a number of viruses (1).
