Chamomilla Recutita (Matricaria) Flower Water is a botanical ingredient obtained from the plant of the same name Chamomilla recutita or Matricaria chamomila (Camomile), an herbaceous medicinal plant that is 15 to 50 cm tall and flowers after a few weeks. Chamomile flowers contain phenolic compounds such as flavonoids like glycogen, apigenin, flavono glycoside and luteolin.
Industrial production involves an extended maceration period and usually steam distillation.
