Chamomilla Recutita (Matricaria) Flower Powder is a botanical ingredient obtained from the plant of the same name Chamomilla recutita or Matricaria chamomila (Camomile), an herbaceous medicinal plant that is 15 to 50 cm tall and flowers after a few weeks. Chamomile flowers contain phenolic compounds such as flavonoids like glycogen, apigenin, flavono glycoside and luteolin.
Industrial production involves an extended maceration period and usually steam distillation.

The most important function of the conditioning agent is to prevent skin dehydration, but the subject is rather complex and involves emollients and humectants that can be added in the formulation.
