Glycine is a naturally occurring component found in the epithelia and connective tissues of meat. It is obtained industrially from soy.
It is used in cosmetics to counteract the effects of loss of skin elasticity due to skin aging, cellulite, slimming processes and pregnancy to name the most common. In connective tissue there is a decrease in protein metabolism and an increase in enzymes that lead to the breakdown of collagen and elastin.
