Products that can help with hair care and/or regrowth

Maintaining healthy hair involves using the right hair care products and ingredients.

• Proteins. Hair is primarily made up of a protein called keratin. Products containing hydrolyzed proteins can help strengthen and repair hair.
• Moisturizers. Ingredients like natural oils (coconut, argan, jojoba), shea butter, and glycerin help to hydrate and moisturize the hair, preventing dryness and breakage.
• Vitamins and Antioxidants. Vitamins such as Biotin (Vitamin B7), Vitamin E, and Vitamin A are essential for hair health. Antioxidants like green tea extract can protect the hair from environmental damage.
• Amino Acids. These are the building blocks of proteins and can help to rebuild and strengthen hair.
• Natural Oils. Oils like coconut, olive, and argan oil can nourish the scalp and hair, promoting healthy hair growth and adding shine.
• Peptides. These are short chains of amino acids, the building blocks of proteins. In hair care, peptides can help with strengthening hair, stimulating hair growth, and anchoring hair follicles. They can also repair damage and increase hair thickness.
• Keratin. This is the protein that hair is made of. Keratin treatments can smooth and straighten hair, but it's important to note that overuse can lead to protein overload, making hair brittle.

Parabens. Used as preservatives in many cosmetic products, parabens can prevent the growth of bacteria and fungi. However, because of concerns about their potential health effects, it is advisable to avoid paraben-free hair products.

Sulfates. These are detergents found in many shampoos. While effective at cleaning, sulfates can strip natural oils from the hair and scalp, potentially leading to dryness and irritation. Sulfate-free shampoos are often recommended for those with sensitive scalps or treated hair.
