Touch probes are used to inspect accuracy and capacity of high-speed computer controlled machines.

In modern CNC machines, measuring operations are simplified with standard inspection cycles. The measurement functions are emulated to check their accuracy. Using probes optimizes production costs as they replace the comparators and there is no need for manual resetting.

The probes are mounted on the spindle and on the turrets of the machine tools with a series of advantages:

• the machine does not remain inactive

• there are no errors due to manual settings

• alignment, fixing and rotary axis settings become fully automatic

• waste is reduced
