Malaysia, officially Federation of Malaysia, is a Southeast Asian country located partly on the Malay Peninsula and partly on the island of Borneo. It borders Thailand, Indonesia, and Brunei, and has maritime boundaries with Vietnam and the Philippines. The capital is Kuala Lumpur, while Putrajaya is the seat of the federal government. Malaysian culture is extremely diverse, with Malay, Chinese, Indian, and indigenous ethnic influences, reflected in its cuisine, music, art, and traditions. Malaysia is known for its tropical beaches, rainforests, and a variety of wildlife. The economy is one of the most developed in Southeast Asia, based on natural resources, manufacturing, tourism, and a growing service sector.
