I purchased a Miele KM 2014 G gas hob, paying as much as 1,000 euros, convinced that I was choosing a high-end, reliable product supported by assistance worthy of the brand.

Unfortunately, from the very beginning, the hob has had ignition problems. On several occasions, the burners do not ignite properly: sometimes the flame starts only on part of the nozzles, sometimes the burner ignites and then goes out as soon as the knob is released, and at other times it does not ignite at all even after several attempts.
The most worrying aspect is that, during and after these attempts, there is a noticeable smell of gas. For a gas-powered appliance, this is not a minor detail.
During a Miele technical service visit, the problem was reported and the technician also checked the hob. However, in the work report, the operation was described as “regular”, even though the behaviour had been observed and even though videos clearly documenting the episodes had also been sent.
In my opinion, describing as “regular” a hob that shows incomplete ignition, sudden flame extinction and smell of gas is not reassuring. For this reason, I have decided to stop using the hob, have it checked by an independent technician and replace it with a product from another brand.
After more than thirty years of purchasing Miele appliances, this experience has definitively compromised my trust in the brand. A product costing around 1,000 euros should provide safety, reliability and adequate assistance. In my case, unfortunately, this was not the case.
Moreover, over time I had also purchased other Miele appliances: a microwave oven whose hinge had to be replaced after some time, and a dishwasher that often leaves some plates and pans with traces of dirt and has clogged my pipes due to the use of the AutoDOS system, which I paid for but am now forced to stop using.
In light of this experience, I will no longer buy Miele products.
