Melilotus officinalis is an exotic biennial plant, a yellow clover that is very resistant to cold, heat and drought belonging to the Leguminosae family.
It is a medicinal plant as phytochemical analysis has revealed flavonoids (kaempferol, quercetin), vitamin C, coumarin with antioxidant and anti-inflammatory activity.
