Punica granatum is a tree belonging to the Lythraceae family with a long and established history as a source of medicinal components. In Ayurvedic and traditional medical medicine, it is used in the treatment of diabetes, as an anti-parasitic agent, to combat dysentery and atherosclerosis.
Phytochemical analysis has shown interesting health components such as ellagic acid, ursolic acid, gallic acid, polyphenols, flavonoids, anthocyanins and tannins. These products can also improve the natural skin barrier and in most cases more than one is needed to achieve an effective result.

Surfactant - Cleansing agent. Cosmetic products used to cleanse the skin utilise the surface-active action that produces a lowering of the surface tension of the stratum corneum, facilitating the removal of dirt and impurities.
