Camellia oleifera leaf is a product obtained from the leaves of the plant of the same name after a grinding and washing process.
What it is used for and where
Camellia oleifera is an oily, woody tree belonging to the Theaceae family that is widely used as a source of edible oil containing about 90 % unsaturated fatty acids. Phytochemical analysis shows a significant content of oleic acid and linoleic acid as well as carotenoids (lycopene), polyphenols (phenolic acid), plant sterols (campesterol), tocopherols, lutein and beta-carotene. All these compounds have antibacterial, antioxidant and anti-inflammatory activity.
