Ethyl citrates is a chemical compound, mixture of mono-, di and triesters of citrate (citric acid or α and β-hydroxytricarboxylic acid) alkyl with ethanol.
The industrial production of citric acid takes place by mycological fermentation of raw sugar from Aspergillus niger and subsequent crystallisation with alkaline solutions.

Hair fixative. This ingredient has the ability to create, with its protective film, stiffness and hold in the hair, and also has the ability to form, with its hydrophilic and elastic properties, bonds between the hair fibres, to keep the hair in a particular shape for a certain time.
