Diammonium Phosphate is a chemical compound, the inorganic salt of phosphoric acid produced by a reaction between sulphuric acid and ammonia.
What it is used for and where
Diammonium phosphate is a major source of fertiliser.
Cosmetics
Buffering agent. Iingredient that can bring an alkaline or acid solution to a certain pH level and prevent it from changing, in practice a pH stabiliser that can effectively resist instability and pH change.
Corrosion inhibitor. It is added to the formulation to prevent, delay or reduce the rate of corrosion and also to decrease the spread of corrosion rates. Performance depends on exposure time.
Oral care agent. This ingredient can be placed in the oral cavity to improve and/or maintain oral hygiene and health, to prevent or improve a disorder of the teeth, gums, mucous membrane.
