Chamomilla Recutita (Matricaria) Flower/Leaf/Stem Water is a botanical ingredient obtained from the plant of the same name Chamomilla recutita or Matricaria chamomila (Camomile), an herbaceous medicinal plant that is 15 to 50 cm tall and flowers after a few weeks. Chamomile flowers contain phenolic compounds such as flavonoids like glycogen, apigenin, flavono glycoside and luteolin.

Industrial production involves an extended maceration period and usually steam distillation.

What it is used for and where

Cosmetics

Fragrance. It plays a very important role in the formulation of cosmetic products as it allows perfume to be enhanced, masked or added to the final product, improving its commercial viability. The consumer always expects to find a pleasant scent in a cosmetic product.

Perfuming. Unlike fragrance, which can also contain slightly less pleasant or characteristic odours, the term perfume indicates only very pleasant fragrances. Used for perfumes and aromatic raw materials.
