Description

Polyethylene isoterephthalate is a chemical compound, modified terephthalate polymer, a copolymer of ethylene glycol and dimethyl isoterephthalate or isoterephthalic acid. Terephthalic acid is an aromatic carboxylic acid used in the production of polyester fibres.

Safety. Cases of allergy to terephthalic acid have been reported.

Bulking agent. It regulates the water content, dilutes other solids, can increase the volume of a product for better flow, acts as a buffer against organic acids, helps to keep the pH of the mixture within a certain level.
