Avena Sativa (Oat) Leaf Extract is a chemical compound, derived from oat (Gramineae family). Oat have been used for generations as a traditional medicine for the symptomatic treatment of minor skin inflammations (such as sunburn) and as an aid in healing minor wounds. This cosmetic ingredient can be derived from any species of oats. Oats are rich in flavonoids including kaempferol, amino acids including lysine and threonine, lipids including unsaturated triglycerides and phenolic compounds including benzoic and cinnamic acids, phenolic esters with antioxidant activity.
