Eric Clapton (1945, Ripley, Inghilterra ) è un chitarrista, cantante, compositore e massimo esponente dei generi rock e blues. Ha venduto circa 130 milioni di dischi.
Carriera
Inizia la sua carriera nel 1960 con John Mayall e , dopo qualche tempo, forma un trio "Cream" con Ginger Baker batterista e Jack Bruce bassista.
Successo
Già nel 1969, quando Harrison lasciò i Beatles, John Lennon pensò a Clapton come sostituto.
1970. Il primo grande successo fu l'Album Layla, ispirato da un poeta persiano.
1974 - 1981 . Album di successo 461 Ocean Boulevard, Backless, Slowhand
Problemi personali
1982. Clapton si fa ricoverare a Minneapolis per disintossicarsi dall'alcol.
1991. Il figlio di Clapton di 5 anni cade dalla finestra del 53esimo piano e muore.
