Bhutan

Bhutan is a small country in South Asia, located in the eastern Himalayas, bordered by India to the south and China (Tibet) to the north. The capital is Thimphu. Bhutanese culture is deeply rooted in Buddhist traditions and its historical heritage, evident in the language (Dzongkha), art, traditional architecture, and religious festivals. Bhutan's economy is based on agriculture, forestry, and tourism, with a unique approach to development centered on the philosophy of Gross National Happiness (GNH) rather than Gross Domestic Product. Bhutan is known for its environmental conservation policies and biodiversity, with lush forests, towering mountains, and rich wildlife. The country maintained a policy of voluntary isolation for many years to preserve its culture and identity, slowly opening up to the outside world. Bhutan is the last Buddhist kingdom in the Himalayas and has a unique and fascinating history.
