The Walking Dead is an adventure game developed by Telltale Games. Based on the comic book series of the same name by Robert Kirkman, the game was released in episodes starting in 2012. Here are some key aspects:

Story and Narration

The game is known for its strong storytelling and character development. The story follows new characters, mainly Lee Everett, a convicted former college professor, and a young girl named Clementine. The plot unfolds parallel to the events of the comic series and showcases the unfolding zombie apocalypse.

Choice-Based Gameplay

A distinctive feature of the game is its focus on moral and decisional choices. The player's actions and decisions influence the course of the story and relationships with other characters, leading to different outcomes and narrative developments.

Episodes and Seasons

The game was released in multiple seasons, each consisting of several episodes. This episodic format allows for more detailed and developed storytelling over time.

Graphics and Artistic Style

The game's graphic style is heavily inspired by the comic series, with an aesthetic resembling a hand-drawn comic. This style contributes to the game's unique atmosphere.

Emotional Impact

The Walking Dead" is praised for its emotional impact, with well-written characters and situations that often present difficult moral dilemmas. The relationship between Lee and Clementine is particularly noted for its emotional depth.

Awards and Recognition: The game has received numerous awards and accolades for its storytelling, characters, and innovation in gameplay.

Cultural Influence

Telltale's The Walking Dead had a significant impact on the adventure game genre, influencing the development of subsequent narrative games and demonstrating the potential of interactive stories in video games.

My opinion.

Atypical adventure, based on a 2010 television series. The plot in brief: In a post-apocalyptic world zombies have invaded the planet. As a result, a diverse group of survivors desperately seek a safe place to settle.

It’s divided into 6 chapters, each of them pretty short, which are slowly coming out (currently only available until the third chapter).

The interaction is minimal, it’s more like an interactive movie. The puzzles are very simple and minimal. It is therefore not a classic adventure and certainly different from the generic canons.

But the story is very beautiful and compelling. The characters are very well characterized and have their own very well defined personality, which is quite rare and appreciable in games of this type. The choices you make in the game determine the profile of the character that we will interpret and how the other characters will react to us (friendly, hostile, etc...).

Even there are various possible paths, for example in some points there are real choices, 2 characters are attacked by zombies and we have to decide who to save with consequences that will greatly affect the continuation of the story.

Absolutely recommended to lovers of the genre.
