Garlic (Allium sativum) is an evergreen bulb plant belonging to the family of Liliaceae well known by ancient Egyptians, Romans, Indians and Chinese.

Garlic contains potassium and magnesium, as well as vitamin C, B9, B6 and B1.




It has been shown to be antihypertensive (1), cardioprotective (degenerative diseases of the cardiovascular system) (2), cholesterol-lowering against the risk of atherosclerosis (3).

Its intake reduces the risk of prostate cancer (4).
